If you’ve come across this website, it is probably because you are concerned that your home or business may have a problem with mold. Unless you have had experience with mold in a residence or place of business, you are probably unsure about what you should or shouldn’t do.
Mold Inspection and Testing is here to help you learn about mold and lead you in the right direction to help you not only find out if you have a problem, but also let you know how to get rid of it.
Many people wonder if they really need a mold inspection before trying to get rid of the problem. Well if you think your home or business has a problem, the answer to this question is absolutely YES. The fact is that the people who do mold removal specialize in just that, removing mold. They do not have the same experience and necessary equipment as we do when it comes to finding mold hiding in your home or business. Even if they did it is important to get your inspection and testing done by someone other than the person doing the removal. This way you can find out exactly what needs to be done and nothing more; you save money in the long run. It is also important to have an independent testing company on your side for when it comes time to do a clearance test. This is done post remediation to ensure the removal company has completely removed both the source and lingering mold spores in the air throughout the home or business.
A good quality inspection should include a visual throughout the home/business, readings with a c02 meter, moisture meter, and thermal imaging camera. Once the initial inspection is complete, the inspector will come up with a suggested protocol for more precise testing. This includes air and surface samples that will be sent off to an independent laboratory to be analyzed and results recorded. The results should be sent back directly to the client and mold inspection company so they can go over them together, a good company should offer some type of protocol if necessary.
